The wooden construction is can generally be divided into the more horisontal planks which are in compression while the more vertical planks (the ones pointng towards the water) are there to reduce the buckling length.
I think this bridge shows the spirit of our program when it combines a beatiful architectural expression with clever construction and loadbearing.
